The Revolution Radio Community Noticeboard is your chance to get your organisation noticed.

Every hour on the radio we will be making announcements on behalf of individuals, charities, community groups and organisations and we'd love to hear from you if there's something you'd like to tell everyone about.

It could be a volunteering opportunity, a meeting of your organisation, a charity appeal, lost pet or a litter pick.

Voluntary impact – Good Neighbours Scheme funding

Voluntary Impact Northamptonshire is offering support for local community groups through their Good Neighbours Scheme

The initiative offers funding, IT equipment, training and guidance for individuals and small groups to help them support their local communities through the pandemic with services such as shopping and telephone support for residents.

Young People Volunteering

Autism Support Service mentoring

Do you have a spare couple of hours a week and are willing to support another person?

Then EN-FOLD need you to become a volunteer mentor and befriender for their autism support service.

You'll be supporting a parent of an autistic child or a newly diagnosed adult.

Covid Jabs at Sikh Temple

The Ramgharia Sikh Temple  on Cromwell Street in Northampton are offering Covid vaccinations as part of the NHS ongoing vaccination programme.

All members of the community are invited to obtain their jabs at the temple provided by Northamptonshire Healthcare Alliance until the end of September.

Friday Divan and Sunday programmes will continue as normal and attendees are asked to use the Key Pad Door entrance when attending.

Sikh Temple Food Banks

The Ramgharia Sikh Temple  on Cromwell Street in Northampton are holding a monthly Food Bank for those who require some help during the Covid period.

The food banks have been running monthly for the last year and usually take place on the third Saturday of the month from 11.00am to 1.00pm at the temple.

Northampton Indian Hindu Welfare Organisation

The Indian Hindu Welfare Organisation (IHWO) in Northampton have been awarded The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in 2021; the highest award given to voluntary sector organisations in the UK.

The organisation’s volunteers are ecstatic and honoured to be recognised for over 25 years of their hard work.

IHWO are well-known for lighting up Northampton town with their annual Diwali celebrations and their pinnacle project - a multi-million pound initiative to build a Hindu Temple and Community Centre in Northampton.

The award recognises over 25 years of hard work ‘to enrich the lives of Hindus and wider communities by meeting their social, cultural, educational and wellbeing needs’.

The award will be given by the Lord-Lieutenant of Northamptonshire and two volunteers will also attend a garden party at Buckingham Palace in May 2022.

Punjabi classes in Northampton

The Ramgharia Sikh Temple  on Cromwell Street in Northampton are holding on-line Punjabi classes every Sunday from 10.00am – 11.00am.

The classes are available to anyone in the local community and are aimed at children from beginner level upwards.

If you would like your children to join, please complete a consent form on the website.

Northampton Gujarati School

Northampton's Gujarati School is a great way for anyone aged 4 onwards to make new friends and work towards and extra GCSE while learning a new language.

It takes place at Caroline Chisholme School, Wooton Fields, Northampton. NN4 6TP every Saturday during school term times between 10.00am to 12.00 noon

Lessons cost £60 per year (approx. £1.50 per week)

Hindi classes in Northampton

Weekly Hindi classes are being run in conjunction with the council in Northampton. They are open to all students and adults who already have a good knowledge, both spoken and written, of the language and wish to progress to GCSE standards. 

The mission of the Hindi school is to promote learning and create better awareness and knowledge of our Languages & Culture not only within our community but the community as a whole.

The Hindi Teacher is Mrs. Harshadaben Govind and it takes place at Block F, Northampton Academy, every Saturday during school term times between 10.00am to 12.00noon

Northants Buddhists Online Lessons

Northants Buddhists are welcoming back Karma Yeshi for a special online teaching event on Monday 23rd August 2021.

The online event will take place at 7pm and will be entitled ‘How to Focus Your Mind: Lessons from the Dhammapada’.

Junior Squash Club

Lings Forum Junior Squash Club is a vibrant and welcoming place for all children from the age of 5 to 19.

Squash is a fantastic sport for kids: it's sociable, it's great fun, and it's never affected by the weather 😁

And in Northants we have a lot of girls playing too.

We coach every Saturday morning from 9am, at Lings Leisure Centre in Weston Favell - and we also have an afterschool club every Monday from 5pm.

Northampton Quakers Meeting

Northampton Quakers are holding their meetings for Worship every Sundays at the Meeting House on Wellington Street from 10:30am to 11:30am observing COVID-19 guidelines.

Meetings for Worship by Zoom are also taking place on Sunday mornings from 10:30am to 11:30am and Wednesday evenings from 7:30pm to 8:00pm.

There is a small amount of parking at the Meeting House and a public car park next to the Meeting House, which is free on Sundays.

Diwali in Northampton

Diwali celebrations will take place in Northampton town centre on Saturday 30 October 2021.

The event has become the biggest Diwali celebration in the county and hundreds of visitors are expected to join the celebrations at the event with entertainment in the Market Square and a parade along Abington Street and Giles Street.

The event is being organised by IHWO, the Indian Hindu Welfare Organisation in partnership with Northampton BID.
