Transport enthusiasts are invited to display their collections at this year’s Transport Day, which will take place at Abington Park Museum in Northampton on Saturday 25 June, from 11am to 4pm.
Following the success of previous years’ events, the museum is hoping to make the event even larger in 2022 and are calling for anyone who owns an unusual or vintage vehicle, either model or full-sized, to get in touch.
Previous exhibitors have included a 1937 Leyland Fire Engine, heritage tractors, classic cars, model yachts, a working Bassett-Lowke gauge one engine and objects from the Silverstone Interactive Museum.
There will also be free vintage bus rides from by Northampton Transport Heritage, transport-themed refreshments and much more. The event is free for exhibitors and visitors, with a small charge for refreshments stalls.
Councillor Adam Brown, West Northamptonshire Council’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet member for Housing, Culture and Leisure, said:
"We are pleased to support the museum’s event in its fourth year of running. The Transport Day is a great day out for all the family and as well as the vehicles on display, people also have the opportunity to enjoy one of Northampton’s most popular parks.
"The event is a chance for all modes of transport to come together, celebrating past, present and even future vehicles, so we welcome all applicants and hope to see even more variety this year."
Anyone who would like to exhibit at this year’s event should email museums@westnorthants.gov.uk by 30 April 2022. All exhibitors must be booked prior to the event taking place.
