A man has appeared in court this afternoon (June 29) after being charged with the attempted murder of a police officer.
Max Hallam, 57, of High Street, Irthlingborough, was also charged with causing intentional suffocation following an incident in Wellingborough town centre on Tuesday, June 28.
Mr Hallam appeared at Northampton Magistrates’ Court when he was remanded into custody.
He is next due to appear at Northampton Crown Court on August 12.
A police officer sustained multiple facial injuries as a result of an assault in a car park in Commercial Way, Wellingborough, at around 11am on Tuesday.
