Northamptonshire Police have issued a message to the local community following the recent tragic death of Fred Shand in Kingsthorpe
Northamptonshire Police launched a murder investigation after a 16-year-old boy was tragically killed near the Cock Hotel junction in Kingsthorpe, Northampton, on the March 22, 2023.
Police were called at around 3.35pm following reports that a boy had been stabbed. Sadly, and despite the best efforts of members of the public, police staff, and paramedics, he died shortly afterwards. Two people aged 14 and 16 have been charged with murder.
This is an exceptionally sad and tragic incident, which has an enormous impact on the neighbourhood and wider community. We believe this was an isolated incident, but we know people are very shocked and upset by what has happened.
We know communities within the town will have concerns following the incident and we would encourage anyone who hasn’t already been in contact with us to get in touch today by calling 101 to share your concerns.
We would also like to say thank you to the members of the public who stopped at the scene and tried to help as well as those people who have contacted us with information about the incident.
Without the support from the community, the investigation wouldn’t be in the position that it is.
